Finally got a BIOS Savior

I've been meaning to buy a BIOS Savior for a long time. I decided to use a BIOS version upgrade as a good excuse, so I ordered one from Multiwave ($29.26 shipped).

Good instruction booklet supplied with all appropriate warnings and even a small faq.

Easy 5-minute install. About the only way you can screw this up is by reversing the chips, and instructions are very explicit (VERY bad things can happen).

I now have quick access between Abit 7G (on the auxiliary BIOS chip) and original 6G (on the original Abit BIOS chip). Switching BIOS versions involves shutdown/flip switch/startup. I can have any two BIOS versions resident at any time.

The only part of setup that involves some thinking is to set BIOS Shadowing to ON for initial flashing of the auxiliary BIOS chip.

Highly recommended!

I agree. Many users could save themselves a lot of time and headaches by purchasing one and the "two BIOS versions resident at any time." is a nice bonus
