I've been running the same 2x 160GB G1's in raid0 for over 2 years. Just re-did my machine with SB and re-installed the OS on them. Think I'm going to take the plunge and swap them out finally.

Looking at the Intel 510 250GB, or going with 2x 120GB or 160GB Intel 320s in raid0. Intel has more than proven their reliability and worth to be trusted with another ssd array.

So, thoughts?

Another option is taking my 64GB Intel x25-E out of my wife's computer and getting another one of those for raid0. I can get another x25-E for about the same price as a 510 through a buddy. The one I have now is barely used the way it is :)

I've heard that the G2 isn't really any faster than the G1, just trim support. On that note, I have a 80GB g2 in my laptop and it is hardly ever ANY kind of bottleneck.
2 G1s in RAID 0 are plenty, I don't know if you'd see any performance difference going to a Intel 510.
If I were you, I'd keep what you have, save money.

it's more along the lines of i've had these drives over 2 years. they've been reliable this whole time, yes, but i want to start fresh. i can get a really nice deal on all of the intel SSDs, so it's not a big deal. i upgrade like once or twice a year... so yeah... i'm one of THOSE guys....

For pure performance the two 320 drives will outperform the single 510 drive in pretty much everything.

Just remember, I have $100 PayPal for those two 160GB G1 drives once you are done with them.
