I got the Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW.

I previously tried the Slingshot 200 AW and a sling bag from Tamrac.
I like the 300 because it holds my camera body with my longest lens (70-200 f/4L IS) with the lens hood attached. Makes it so much more convenient. The Tamrac bag was just terrible.

Are there any major differences from the 200 AW, other than greater length/width?

Don't think so. It's just a wider bag. The height seems to be about the same. It may have a better waist belt, I dont remember the belt on the 200.

I have the 100 and I have been trying to figure out that as well. I was thinking maybe tying it on to one of the attachment loops or something.

I have a 300 AW and I love it! IMO the difference with the waste belt between the 200 and 300 is worth it if you carry the pack all day. It distributes the weight to the middle of your back and on your hips, instead of your shoulders. After a while the weight will dig into your shoulders and get uncomfortable. I still don't know to attach a tripod or monopod.
