Hey. Okay, so I didn't want to do another mod where I cut hole in an existing case or the like. I was going for the stable, strong and secure approach because this is the case for my webserver/home server. It's all steel, and it took me a while to make. Everything was made by me from scratch except for the backplate which I ripped out of my old cheesy case.
Czech it out.

hehehe.. I'll try to take some more pics. This isn't my cam though, it's my school's and it's pretty beat.
I actually have more lights on than I usually do, I moved one over so that I could take the pics. I'll try though, because you're right, they are pretty dim.

edit: Thanks for the Antec comment. It's nothing that hasn't been done though. It has a fan bus, and it used to have blue and white LED's for the power and HDD .. but now it's just two red ones. Everyone and their mom has a 1030/1040 :)

Nice job on the case man! Just wondering why you didnt go with an all aluminum case. I mean you dont really need steel, no body is going to be punching your case or throwing rocks right.:) But again i say it looks really nice, how much does it weigh?

That's a nice case smp, I like the "industrial" look w/ the color of the steel and the shiny bolts. You have a case that you should be very proud of.

Dude! Nice case man :)

How long did it take start to finish?

How much does it weigh?

How much will it cost for you to build me one too!

Hehehe. those who want to know how much it weighs.... it doesn't weigh more than my antec if you can beleive it. I didn't go with aluminum because there are plenty of aluminum cases and yes, I am worried that someone will try to shoot up my case :) You never know what could happen. It's supposed to symbolize something that is DMCA proof :)

How long did it take start to finish?

It took me two months in the metal shop, usually six hours every wednesday, sometimes twice a week if I could afford the time. Too long, but it was my first time in the metal shop, I learned a lot.

How much will it cost for you to build me one too!

I appreciate the flattery. :)

ChrisADuffy: I didn't forget VH man! My inspiration for case modding started there. I sent the email and I hope he posts it.
Thanks for the positive comments folks, appreciate it. I think one day when I am willing to spend some more time on it, a window might go in. Right now I really like the simplicity. One of my favourite art movements was the brief period in the 70's known as minimalism :) so that should say a bit about my aesthetics.

It reminds me of the old Macs I used in the 1st and 2nd grade. ;)

Those things were built like a tank, despite it's a Mac.

Great job and your idea behind the case (debian = strong, rugged) is very creative as well. Keep up the excellent work!
