I got all the parts last week, and started working on it last weekend.

Athlon 64 X2 3800
XP90 w/ 92 mm Panaflo fan
2GB OCZ EL 2-3-2-5 Titanium
MSI Neo2 Platinum (NF3, 1.A bios)
BFG 6800GT
FSP Blue Storm 500AX (460W) PSU
Audigy 2 ZS
Seagate 7200.8 300GB hdd & Samsung 160GB hdd (both SATA)
Some Lian Li case etc etc

About 1k with some recycled parts.

It was a very PAINFUL build. First problem was trying to hook up the motherboard to the case... all those small wires were a pain in the ass, and lining up the mobo with the case.. just annoying.

Then it was the motherboard again which shipped with the only BIOS that supported X2 CPU at that time, but what a buggy BIOS it was: I was getting BSOD for no reason and the system would randomly reboots or corrupt the hdd. The latest bios released fixed many issues tho.

Couldn't OC much at all. I hit 2.35GHz and it wouldn't go any further. That'll be the last time I build a computer, too much headaches trying to figure out what's wrong when I've done nothing wrong, faulty and sh!tty MSI motherboard etc etc

And oh yeah... compared to my 3 years old P4, it didn't feel that any faster IMO. There are little improvement when the computer is under very heavy load with programs like quickpar, but as far as smoothness when watching HD content or when the hdd is running, the X2 fails to deliver :/

You dont need to remind me, I am such a nerd.

Well it looks great and wire management looks incredibly good! For the bad things you say about it, it looks great and sounds like it performs good too. It's too bad you had BIOS problems and constant BSOD'ing. I have a P4 right now and it does great in multitasking so apparently I'm not missing much?
