Finally Fast (dot com)?

Had a client that went to the aforementioned web site, and now they have some sort of annoying "optimizer/anti-spyware" app that loads every time their computer starts, and they were complaining about it.

Anyone else been though this? Is it hard to remove? I just reformatted the computer less than six months ago, I don't want to go through that again. (Had to fix SP3 reboot-loop problems.)

Try uninstall. If they can't see through such tricks give them WOT http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/finallyfast.com Did not read all comments but if uninstall is also a scam, just remove manually - check with Autoruns, Filemanager, Regedit. Also check browsers for changed/added search engines, start pages.

Make them aware they not only went to the site but also downloaded and installed optimizer thingy. If mistake is acknowledged may be no need for WOT.

Norton and Mcafee love that site btw. - despite negative comments they continue to give green light. I guess so will most software scanners, they are under the radar but still crap. In case they feel comfortable and protected by the lazy WOTs may be show them why it is time to upgrade.

I've seen commercials for that service. I think it's safe to say that it's a scam. The fact that they have an iBook "running" Windows in their ad was a big tipoff. ^_^

Probably obvious...but it seems like you should convince the client to make some system backups after the PC is cleaned/rebuilt.
