the bots have a real advantage because they know what you've played before they play.

So uncheck the box. They specifically admit to having bots there to speed up the process of finding a partner, but you can turn it off anytime you want.
It's not like it's hidden, it's right in the middle of the 'Play Now' page.

The only downside is it doesn't save the setting permanently, only for that session. So when you come back the next day you have to make sure to uncheck it again.
