shoulda used a flash, coulda illuminated the moon more 😉
good pic though, the moon is not photogenic

I have one where I used the flash, but I haven't even messed with it yet.

This is also a 100% crop, with no PP just sharpening.

Why the fvck does the moon look more like the Deathstar?! Some of those surface characteristics look manmade 😕

It's just all impact craters...large ones. Nothing looks manmade to me. Well besides the flag and the moon rover that are right there.

I find the G3 incredibly hard to take pics through additional lenses (telescopes, microscopes).

Back when I used my K750i as my point and shoot camera, I got wonderful shots in the microscope for our labs, but once I broke that phone, I had to go back to my G3 as my regular camera. I had so much trouble getting the fat G3 lens to work well through other devices....

For those of you wanting longer exposure.... Longer exposure the whole moon will probably turn out to be too bright. You won't be able to get the details as well.

nice pics fellas.

i need to lay off the beer and i may get some good shots one day.

that, or finally save up for a decent scope.

how about some saturn shots?

Could you point out the flag? I'm having a hard time finding it. 🙂

I've recently taken interest in getting into stargazing and planet viewing and am considering purchasing a telescope. Any suggestions or advice?

So far, I've looked at www.telescopes.com (the Orions) as well as the Meade outlet store on Ebay. My budget is relatively modest.
