So, I'm pretty excited about finishing my Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting at Mary Baldwin College.

It turned out to be a lot more affordable than JMU for me. I've been running around talking to advisors to make sure JMU would look favorably upon their degree for admission into their Masters program, as I would like to get a Masters in Accounting.

Plus MBC is right down the road from me! :D

Mainly just wanted to share some of my excitement.

Glad the wife doesn't mind this stat:

Percent degree-seeking undergraduate women: 95.5 %
Percent degree-seeking undergraduate men: 4.5 %

I'm hoping that if I keep up the heavy course loads I can have my BS completely finished in 3 years total. I've been taking 18 credits per semester at the CC plus a full summer load of 12 as well.

It's just nice to have all the uncertainty in transfer course planning out of the way and have an affordable way to finish my education with a few of the grants they offered.

When did Mary Baldwin go co-ed? I thought that was one of the last all female colleges.

Overnight privileges? :D
"Study groups?"

Congrats to ya. I'd LOVE to be going on to a 4 year college to finish my degree...but it's just not in the cards at this time.
Hell, I'd be about 60 by the time I graduated!

Hmmm, at your school, I could be the "kindly old grandpa" that lets all the little girls sit on his lap...:D

"there, there, little girl. Tell old Boomer what's bothering you." :p [/dirtyoldman]

LOL..I'd never be allowed back home.

Thanks man. I've met a lot of people at the CC that are just going for their two years, and a few more that are back taking transfer credits that decided to get back in the educational loop. It's all about how life plays its cards to you. I went out and worked in IT for a few years, but just didn't see the bright future in it that I wanted personally.

Just as a side note, you'd be (or wouldn't be :p) surprised at how many people I've met who are on the TRADE Act dollar. Damn outsourcing. 0.0

You could come visit with me. Buy a cane and bring it or what not. ;)

I transferred also (last year, but I'm 20) and it is a pain, but I'm finally caught up this year and will graduate on time. So I halfway know how you feel :D

Yeah, I talked to advisors on both sides a few times to make sure I didn't take any non-transferable courses.

But hey, CC has helped save a lot of money. Especially since when I returned after being out working I got a bit of a shaft on my FAFSA.

Thanks for the well wishing guys. I'm pretty excited. :)
