Hi All! I bought this board but had numerous probs... This was before the latest BIOS release (a few days ago). I returned the board and tried the ASUS, again - problems. Now maybe it was just a couple of bad boards as all the other systems I have assembled are fine... (meaning, YES - I can put together a system) :)

My question is:

With all the negative comments on this forum re: the MSI K7T PRO2A, would you suggest it? I'm willing to give it a shot (again) but I want a user community opinion... The reviews out there are good on this board... what do you think??

Thanks.

I have not had any problems with this board. I would recommend it. What kind of problems did you have?

It's not a bad board.....just that so many people are using it that all you see are the posts from people who are having problems.....Mine works great......

It's just that now KT133A looks soooooo good....

The prices for kt133a boards are already going down. If you have another system to use, I'd say wait about 3 weeks, until the Msi turbo comes out.

Only had my pro2a for a few weeks, but haven't had a problem with it yet. Probably doesn't tell you much :) but stability-wise it's great.

I would recommend the board also. This was my first homebuilt setup, and I managed to have far less problems (some however) than I would normally have when just installing Windows drivers or Harware on my old Pentium using parts from different vendors, mixed with older hardware and no experience other than what I gleaned here and having used microsoft/intel from DOS 3.2

In fact it performs so much better than I thought it would, I've been able to hold off getting more memory and new video card to make the wife happy:)...for now

The lack of an ISA slot over that CNR? thingy is my biggest complaint..no more backup modem if my DSL goes down:(

Just built a system for my brother around the K7T Pro 2, and it runs perfectly. He loves it.

I've had no problems at all with the pro2a. I was scared to death after I ordered it reading all the bad posts here but the upgrade for me went painlessly. Hell, I even have win98 running on there after being moved from an Abit board and it works fine. I'm sure theres not a board out there that doesnt have some people complaining. I read the same things about Abit boards as the MSI.
