Final Preparations for the Matrix

What's the best theatre to see this flick in NYC? I was thinking the Imax on the Upper West Side but if anyone has a better theatre, I'd be grateful. Thnx.

are there any advanced showing? especially Boston area.
Make some friends with theator workers. Seriously. I know for spiderman, there was a press screening either Wednesday or Thursday night and for 8mile, there was a press screening on wednesday night I could have gotten into.

A few girlfriends later and I don't associate with those people anymore 🙁. So no advanced screening of the matrix reloaded for me. I'm still gonna try and get advanced tickets for either the midnight showing or the earliest showing on thursday. Midnight would be cooler, but I'm not sure I want to deal with out of control FanBoys (I guess Episode 2 was bad during the yoda scene at the midnight showing)

I would suggest a digital theatre if you have one in your area. Im planning on seeing Matrix in digital up in Dallas when it comes out.

10pm showing on wednesday 14 may

the 34th st loews is a new theatre so i would think it's pretty nice. i've heard only good things about it. the ziegfeld is definitely a great theatre but the seats aren't so great. i've always been partial to the amc 25 and the loews both on 42nd st by times square. both have stadium seating and very comfy seats. however, those are always packed and the battery park loews is usually empty and just as good imo.

AMC used to = teh good! But now, sadly, they charge too much damn money! Will still pay it to see The Matrix Reloaded in a good theatre though... just not regular movies.. 🙂

OMG--that would be awesome--seeing the Matrix in IMAX format! Are you sure that's available??

I know they showed the first Matrix in Imax, but I'm not sure about the latest. But which theatre is the biggest and in digital in AMC? Anyone knows?

Check the internet for any advanced showings. And I don't mean theatres. LOL
It'll suck on the computer. No way it can match the experience in the theator. Hell, Episode 2 rocked in the theator, just because of the awesome sound.

Besides, I saw an article on CNN where movie companies are experimenting with ways of adding "flickers" unseeable by the human eye to a movie. Kind of like how a computer monitor flickers if you video tape it. That way, any videotaped version has those flickers in it.

If they can roll it out fast enough, I'd bet they have it in place for the summer blockbuster season.

Official release is 4/15. There's probably a press screening earlier though, I know here we have the review in the paper the day it comes out (and the paper's deadline is like midnight the night before)

apparently it comes out wed? anyone know?
The late showings may just be to keep theator workers from having to be at work until 2-3am. It'll probably be about two hours long, so if they do a midnight showing, plus clean the theators, they could have people there till 3am easily. The 10pm show may be a press screening too, but I'd think they wouldn't make that open to the public.

Everything I've seen indicates a may 15th release.

Yep... saw a poster today. 5-15-03.

It seems like Revolutions is going to be released too close to this movie. Does that mean the DVD will be out before November 5th of this year?
