I'll probably swap mobos back and forth depending on the best GPU/PPU configuration when new ones are released.

Why turn that case upside down.. ? I just got my A8R32-MVP last week, and got it up and going. No problems whatsoever. Great mobo. No pics of it however yet.

We have pretty similar systems. You had the A8N32-SLI, as did I. And we both went to the A8R32. We both have 165 Optys at 2.7gig, both have 2x1gig PC4000. Both have the Raptor 150, and a X-Fi. We both have a Lian Li case, cept mine is the bigger brother, the V2000. Both have a 24" WS LCD, and the PC P&C 510 SLI PSU. Both have a X1900XT, exept I have two in Crossfire. :) All in all, very close systems. Great minds think alike I suppose. :eek:

candles are a must with Doom3 and FEAR!

I will never buy a console (why would I want to downgrade?)

I'm still using my A8N32 because I had to reorder the A8R32 off Newegg. I was out of stock. I have the crossfire card ready, but of course the NForce4 is shouting "get that thing away from me!!!"
BTW, doesn't it piss you off that Far Cry is still benchworthy software? Lol On my old rig with an X850XT but 1280 x 1024, I got better frames than I do now. Crysis had better surprise us with optimizations, because If I have to lose the Adaptive AA just to play Far Cry maxed out, we're going to be decimated by an even better version of CryEngine!

Both MonarchPC and ZZF are cheaper than newegg for the A8R32. Why not go with them? newegg is $200+ shipping. ZZF is $195+ free 2 day shipping. MonarchPC is $190+ shipping.

Penn State! I'm going to be going there this fall =D

I had my mind set on bringing my desktop and beefing up the entire setup before I do so, but then I thought it would be overkill and bad for my... studies. How often do you see a setup like that in Penn State? Are you on the main campus?

I was buying other stuff from Newegg, and ZZF doesn't ship military.

Um yeah, sorry, I'm just a fan, this is my USMC barracks in Okinawa.

I haven't tested for input lag, so I'm not going to go out on a limb about it, but I play tons of FPS games and it seems fine.

Tripod?

I actually thought about righting the case, but I think I would actually lose some of my airflow advantages, so I don't know if its worth it anymore.

I was going to suggest the new CPU-Z version, too. 1.32.1 is the latest I have.

VERTIGGO, are you planning on selling your A8N32 SLI? For the right price, I may be interested. :)

I'm not really a fanboy, so I am planning to keep my options open, in case the GPU market shifts before I require the AM2 switch.

Its ontopic to his, our PC's are very close in spec. Stop being so whiny. He didnt have a problem with it.
