My first post was well my first post on Anandtech. I read the pc buliders reccomendations and will provide all the info in this post.
1.)My pc will be used at college for gaming, music and of course some class work.
2. My budget is $2500.00. My dad will pay $1600.00(what he paid for my sisters laptop back in the day) and I currently have $900.00 saved up. Im sure he would lend me an additional $200.00 if need be.
3. I will be living in Gunnison Colorado(w00t) and buying the parts from newegg. I plan on buying the parts in St. Paul Minnesota and having General Nanosystems assemble it and intall all software on it.
4. I do have a brand preference and seeing as how price is only a part of the equation I like intel and nvidia alot. There more expensive but also slightly better than amd/ati.
5. No current parts will be used
6. I have one other thread that i posted but it was sloppy as hell.
7. I wish to overclock a q9450 from 2.66 gb to around 3.00 gb.
8. I will be buying the parts in the next couple of days so time is of the essence.
Without further delay Here are my parts. I chose the motherboard and ddr3 memory as to future proof my computer. I plan to buy a second 9800gx2 when I have the money. Hopefully it will be a great platform than will run future games really well.

I am really excited to build a good gaming pc for once. I have been using a dell for like 5 years with an upgraded video card and memory.
If anyone sees anythign that they could improove( such as a cheaper counterpart than will run equally as well please tell me. I know that ddr2 is very similar to ddr3 but I think that in the future the best ddr3 with greatly outperform ddr2 hence I want a motherboard that takes ddr3.
I would like a cpu cooler that works on my motherboard.
My build is at 2700.00 but i get a paycheck saturday so its no prob at all.
Looking forward to all comments thanks for your time- Joe
