This is getting ridiculous. . .. Clearly AMD and nV planned this, the pricing is just too perfect
$700 - HD5970
$500 - GTX480
$400 - HD5870
$350 - GTX470
$300 - HD5850
$250 - GTX465
$200 - HD5830

in a few months it will be

$150 GTX460
$100 HD5770

on topic. that thing is a dead ringer for a 5830, I see it being closer to a 5830 than a 5850.

Mabe not Skurge, have you noticed a 5830 is dropping near 200$ latley?
250$ would be right in between a 5830 and 5850 price & performance.

I said this about a month ago (part I bolded in red).
I really think this is planned. It's the perfect price performance line up for both companies and no price drops OR COMPETITION!:(

yea 5830s are more like $230 right now. still though, it lines up really well. since the supply on 40nm chips in those price ranges is still selling out quite quickly i think it's going to be a while before we see any price drops. im betting we wont see anything significant until ATI goes to southern islands lol

Yeah, they probably moved the 5830 down to make room for the 465.

such planning is illegal, but would be highly beneficial to both companies. and it wouldn't be the first time it has been done.
