Don't be fooled! This game is not worth $20, much less $30 (IMOHO)!

Sorry OP, I'm not hating on you or your thread. It's a great deal if you want to buy the game, and who knows--some people will even enjoy it. I just can't help but give the game a really really bad review. The story is one of the worst RPG stories I've ever experienced, if not the worst. Not only is the script dull to begin with, but it's incredibly cheesy and full of teen angst to boot. I'm at a loss trying to rate the voice acting, despite how much is present...because no one can make this script good. The graphics are great, of course, but every other game aspect is in the ok-to-bad range. Even the music failed to grab my attention this time around, but of course the story wasn't doing it any favors. I won't be playing through any more FF games just cause they're FF.
 
Off topic, I know, but I wish they would just re-do FF7 for the PS3. They'd make over $9000 billion if they did.

I know I would definitely buy that for sure.

Squaresoft, though, really need to try something different for their protagonist. The late teen, male with identity issue finding himself in extraordinary circumstances, well, is just getting really old.
 
Well, a few games ago they *did* have a early twenties (I think she was 20 by then?) female with an inability to move on as the protagonist...

I have to totally agree with you on this..I just sold my copy a few weeks ago without even finishing it (why waste the time)? I thought they'd finally make a turn-around in this series, but they've been destroying it since FF11. I Loved FF7 - 8 was decent, 9 was pretty good, loved 10...never tried 11 but heard mixed reviews, 12 was...I dunno, didn't finish it either.

I just REALLY hate the new system in the game, it feels like I'm pushing a button and waiting...I'm not really telling them to 'do' anything like you did in 7-8-9...you actually chose each character to heal/fight/etc. This one, you control one character and the rest do whatever the hell they feel like, what's up with that aspect anyway???
