You are confusing remake vs remaster (in HD).

Remaking FF7 would be a massive undertaking and I could see how they think it'd be impossible. FFX is just being remastered in HD.

I never understand how people don't see the difference with this.

I play approximately 1 game a year. Meaning, I beat 1 game a year tops. I don't game too often anymore. Last year, I only played Halo 4, and no, not the single player only multiplayer (I don't even play single player anymore).

In short, I'm not a hardcore gamer. Halo 4 was pretty much the last straw for me. NO ONE has gotten any better since launch it's depressing. There is no reason I should go 5 to 1 K/D every game. Multiplayer of games are full of so many bad/stupid players I don't have fun with any video games anymore. Just starting up some single player games now to play through some stories since I haven't even played through popular games like BioShock, etc.

I'm actually surprised they haven't remade it with it being so popular. Do it right and some modern touches in the gameplay and you have an instant hit without all the work of making a new game from scratch.

I agree. Even remaking it would be profitable. It's the MOST POPULAR GAME in the franchise. It's ASSURED profit. That's something companies love to hear. If I had been Square Enix, I would have "Remastered" it each console and now Certainly Remade it when we hit PS4.

I'm curious though, where did you find that modded PC version of FF7 I could definitely play that. I didn't play FF7 on PS1 or PSP because the graphics were just too much for me.

no.
PSX version versus the modded PC version

You can make the emulated version look as good or better than the PC version by going into the graphics options and turning up the resolution and tinkering with the options there. By default it will look as blocky as it did in 1997 (like in your screenshot).

I think I'm possibly the only person who likes VIII more than VII.

But I might get VII off Steam since I don't have it in any other form anymore.

You think it will look as good as the image on the right? I'd be surprised. Where is this mod at anyway?

Actually it wont; all you can do is increase the resolution and add AA; the image on the right uses an entirely new model for the character. In no way will an emulated PSX version look as good as the modded PC version, using all the appropriate mods.

There aren't texture mods for the PSX version? I dunno since I don't use PS emulators. I did use an N64 one though, and a texture mod for Ocarina of Time. Looked amazing. I just don't have time to finish it or motivation. I'm playing Bioshock instead, I like it a lot though(Yes, I'm far behind enough on games that Bioshock is new for me).

In a lot of ways VIII is better, it was way too easy to take advantage of the stats/magic system though.

FF7 was one of my all time favorite games, but im personally waiting for an HD remake to go through that game again. I tried playing it on my phone a while back and got bored. Yea it brought back some good memories, but i just no longer have the patience for random battles anymore, and I ended up playing much of the game in fast forward.

I also really like FF8, theyre about equal to me. FFX has always been my favorite, and im really excited for the remake. I put SO many damn hours in that game - even re-did the entire sphere grid :/

There are tons of mods for it, just google. Here i'll get you started.

*edit: I just realized you didn't really quote me, it just looked like you did. However the modded PC version does look awesome and beats any emulation of PSX hands down.
