Final Fantasy V and VI

ok, i've heard all the good things about VI, but not much on V. I've played most of the FF games except these here. Is it worth getting into? How is the battle system on VI? thinking of getting the PS1 version to play on the PS3.

VI is definitely worth getting. V is ok but nothing super special. V looks a little dated and the job system didn't interest me much. However, VI is probably my favorite FF story wise.

IIRC, the PS1 version of FF6 has some load time issues. That's not a game breaker, but it could be annoying. If you have access to a DS, you may want to consider hunting down a copy of FF6 Advance. But, yes, it's definitely worth a whirl, fantastic game.

I never got around to FF5 - it's supposedly a pretty reasonable game. Again, consider hunting down FF5 Advance due to load times.

yeah, but i'd rather play it on the big screen than the DS. it's the FF Anthology cd for PS1. I think i'll just take the dive and buy it. thanks for the info

I play the FF Advance games on the big screen - it just takes a 'cube with GBA player (and a Wavebird, if you hate cords like me). 🙂

VI has an epic storyline plus one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. height of nobuo uematsu's work imo

Yes. All FF games are worth it except X and X-2. 🙂

no!!! FFX is my fav in the series so far. And I admit that I enjoyed FFX-2 alot too.

X-2 was the Charlie's Angels bastardization of the FF franchise. Now X was definitely one of my favorites. I put up with X-2 (i.e. I gamesharked it to get from point A to B as quickly as possible) just to get a little more story out of that game world.

I'll change my statement as I posted something similar a little while ago regarding FF. X and X-2 are not horrible games, just the worse in the series. IMO 🙂

I played FF VI on ZSNES and it was pretty good, excellent storyline. It lacked the cinamatics that Anthologies had I believe though. I didn't care for V, but I only gave it 30 minutes trial.

FF v and VI are both worht getting., IF you enjoy the older JRPG type games. i personally love them. VI has the best story, gameplay, charectors in any rpg ever.

If you do get the ps version. The save menu on ff v glictches and screws up on the ps3. It does it on the ps2 as well but you can actually get out of it on it. I havn't tried 6 so I don't know if it has any issues other than the load times.
