It's not clear if you realize this, but Final Fantasy IV was called Final Fantasy II in the US, and Final Fantasy VI was called Final Fantasy III in the US. So this is a remake of US Final Fantasy II. It was II, III and V that were never released here initially. II came out on the Playstation (along with I in FF Origins) and GBA (with I in FF Dawn of Souls), III just came out on the DS, first time it appeared in the US. And V came out on Playstation (FF Anthology) and GBA (by itself).
So you can play every Final Fantasy game in the main line of games in English right now. There's probably some spin-offs that aren't out in the US, but the main line of games is all out here.

I wish they'd make these for the PSP as well. I don't want to own both systems.

I loved Final Fantasy 5. I hope they remake that. I wasn't much of a fan of FF6 though... even though people say that was the best... /shrug

Well they have I & II for the PSP out already.. So according to what Mugs posted, II on the PSP should be the same thing IV(?)

The GBA ports were actually quite good. They redrew the backgrounds you see during fights and they looked much better than the SNES versions (IV and V at least; VI looks the same but it was probably the best looking 16-bit game anyway). Plus the translations are much better!
