Final Fantasy 8 graphical problems

I had this problem before with my geforce 2 and 3 but now own a radeon 8500. Cant remember what I did previously to fix this.....

I get a odd grid all over the screen that makes the bakc ground textures look odd. Also the shadows look like crap lol. Cant remember how to fx this anyone know how? I d/l the patch and that did not solve the problem.

I think you need to download a tweek utility like Nvmax and enable 8 bit (256color) pallated textures.

yep, since FF8 is NOT optimized for geforce you must install the patch.
Get it from Gamespot.com or search somewhere else. it's called NVpatch. I dunno about Radeon tho'
