I've played them all.

For me, personally, without a doubt, it's Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection on PSP. I don't know if it's available on any other platforms, but its stellar on the PSP.

Yes, the DS remake was excellent in its own right, and worth a playthrough for seeing all of the old locales and characters in 3D (and voice acted, FWIW).
To my eye, the art of the Complete Collection remains by FAR the most pleasing. These games were just meant to be enjoyed in 2D, and the subtle but appreciated graphical and audio improvements are just gorgeous. I'll take refined, beautiful 2D over rough 3D any day of the week.

Better translations, more items and areas, and improved gameplay without a complete overhaul (like the DS 3D remake did)
I also liked the option for original (16-bit audio), or updated, arranged versions of the classic soundtrack in-game.

As far as FF6, I've only ever played it on FF Anthology on PSX and the SNES itself.
