[Final] E6300 OC'ing my thought

Haven't observed throttling yet. Even if they do, it's not likely for me to see it unless I pull the fan plug off of my heatsink (which I'm afraid of doing 😀) Remember I'm not at the chip's limit yet? And I just revamped my cooling from Zalman to Thermalright Ultra-120. But I will certainly keep an eye on it.

nice work with the allendale there.....yeah it's all about the damn mobos with these CPUs

i know that my Step5 B1 can do 3.5GHz but my DS3 won't do that sort of FSB hehe

in terms of top of the range allendale.........it's actually an E6500 🙂

I'm runnning the E6300 CPU with Gigabyte DS3

just started testing today

here is my second boot at 450MHz FSB

3150Mhz on CPU..........stock Vcore 1.26-1.28v; RAM: 450MHz 4-4-4-12 2.2v G.Skill HZ

I've been testing a decent 24/7 speed and think this will do
3GHz with only 1.136v with 430MHz on memory 4-4-3-12 2.0v 🙂

So with the general thoughts here on the low multi/motherboards limiting OC'es, anyone considering or waiting for Merom to come out? A multi of 13x would be sweet.... Not sure if there will be any enthusiast mobos for the mobile chips though. Anyone have any info on motherboards for Merom?

i was able to get meroms before conroe or allendale the problem is...........even with that sort of multiplier as that you are FSB limited.....................i know it's sad.......imagine being stuck at 230 FSB eek or 240 heheh

FYI, you shouldnt do installs with anything overclocked.

E6300 is the highest end Allendale. The E4xxx wont be released cause OEM's and retailers need to dump their Pentium-D stock.

If you can't install Windows with it overclocked, then it's not a stable system IMO.

That is sad. I guess that shoots that idea down. Gonna wait to see how the new RD600 boards do. From what the Inq. says they will be the cat's meow for these chips.

QFT, though some people's definition of "stable" varies. 😉

I've even done BIOS flashes while overclocked.
