Hi, I am now wiring down to the motherboard decision for my AMD thunderbird Socket-A 800mhz CPU. I was wondering which motherboard has top stability at the same time offer good price. I currently looking at the MSI K7Tpro and Asus a7v msi is available at this time but not the a7v and also a7v is having some problem with the o/c dip switch and thous significantly weakened its o/c ability. And when does A7v become really available... I am very confused which socket-A motherboard to buy thanks for your help.

You really should wait until comparative reviews are out by AnandTech and others. I'd say go for the ASUS A7V over the MSI, if only because it's an ASUS. The A7V is supposed to be available very soon. I believe AnandTech mentioned that their MSI board wasn't that stable.

SlotA seemed to like the MSI K7Tpro, they even commended it on it's stability. Also, performance seems right up to FIC AZ-11 and VIA reference KT133 board. I see no real reason why not to go for it.

On the other hand, Asus board will propably be even stabler and faster, albeit more expensive.

Hey just got the MSI slot A board. Check my post for full info on it, running a 800MHz TBird, rock stable, but will not boot any custom fsb settings!
