Well I think I'm pretty well set on my build and about to pull the trigger. Was waiting on the Intel C2D to drop and looks like that's happening now. I'll wait a few more days til it officially hits and see if it goes down a bit more, but other than that...

I've already got Klipsch Speakers, a X-Fi Gamer soundcard and DVD burner available to round it out.

In addition I'd like to add a 24" LCD, either this:

BenQ FP241W Black 24" 16ms (6ms GTG) DVI Widescreen HDMI LCD Monitor 500 cd/m2 1000:1 1080P - Retail

or the Dell 2407WFP

I feel pretty good about my choices but I could use some input, prices are Newegg but I'll be looking around too. I saw ZZF had the PS I wanted for about 20 bucks less for instance. Took me a while to settle on a power supply and I'm still not sure on the RAM really, any RAM advice is great. This will be a gaming rig primarily, any overclocking will be slight if at all (i.e. I probably will NOT overclock this rig at all). Oh and the 8800GTX I sort of just picked a name I knew.... any input there is welcome too.

Thanks in advance.

What OS are you using?? If you are doing vista get 4 gigs of ram, you wont regret it :). This 4 Gig kit is pretty sweet for the price, with very good timings : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220227

The DS3 is a good mobo, EVGA is a good video card company, 7200.10 HDD's are fast and reliable. Honestly no gripes about your build.

My FX-60 i an A8N32-SLI+ 8800GTX + 4GB DDR400 Ram rocks pretty much everything I throw at it, and a E6600 at stock should be roughly equal. OC that baby and you will smoke me.

Thanks Krotchy

Hmm good question with the OS, I was planning to use XP Pro but Vista has been tempting me off and on. Pro just XP Pro for now. I'd like to get the 4 gigs ram though, maybe later down the line.

How about the monitor, any gamers want to recommend a 24" LCD? =)

I have a 2407 and I love it, but everyone sees different things with LCD's, so get what looks best to you. Honestly, LCD choices depend on how sensitive you are to things. Some people cant tell the difference between 2 LCD's to save their life, some see ghosting on everything under the sun. Depending on your sensitivity to certain things, some might be better/worse than others

I agree with this statement, even though it adds about 300 bucks to the processor more than doubling it.

Supreme Commander + Quad Core = nice

Although, going dual core now, then waiting to buy a quad core when the Penryn refresh comes out might be a better idea, due to the heat savings.
