The thread about Citizen Cane got me thinking about this.

Does any film buffs on this board know how they film/photograph a person looking in a mirror without the cameraman showing up?

Hey,
The easy way is to shoot at an angle... Some movies now go as far as digitally removing the camera dude... Two way mirroring could work, I thinK.. I'll dig up a text book and try to find the best answer ..

By using the Scheimpflug effect. It's the effect view cameras use to shift perspective without moving the camera physically. Special lenses allow certain ellements to be moved so that perspective changes a few degrees, allowing the classic front-on mirror shots without the camera being reflected. Read about view cameras to learn more about this effect.

do you mean like an over the shoulder shot of the person looking into the mirror? If so you can hide the camera into the background.

If you just mean a POV shot then you just film the person straight on with a mirror border around them :) editing can do wonders
