I softmodded a 9800se with 256 mb ddr to a 9800pro I believe. I get about 17000 in 3dmark 2001 but only get 3157 in 03...why the difference. Could the pipes not be engaged? If that were true then the 01 scores would be about 12000ish.

Can someone help me know for sure??

If the pipelines weren't working, all 3D performance would suffer. Perhaps your Dx8 functions aren't working well, try new drivers.

Not that 3Dmark is relevant anyway, its more of a steaming pile of sh!t. Benchmark some games.
 
Is your card noticeably faster in games? If you cant tell, then probably all you did was give your 9800SE a 9800pro bios and nothing more.

If you are noticing any artifacting in any games where you didnt before, chances are you enabled piplines that are not up to snuff, or your 9800pro bios is running the core & mem beyond spec.

Also, I thought that some 9800SE's only come with a 128 bit mem bus. Correct me if I'm wrong.
