Filling out forms in adobe acrobat?

I have a couple of forms that need to be completed but they're all in acrobat. I have the full acrobat which I am currently using. I'm just using the free-text tool to create boxes? is this the best way? Also, how can I adjust the text size so it will fit neatly inside the form boxes?

Can you just print it out and send it in?

...that would involve using a pen or a pencil plus typing is so much neater.

form tool
click and drag your box size
then you can scale the text and or make a font size too.
