Filling foods

What are some foods that are known to be more filling, but that are not as high in calories and fat? Isn't Slim Fast designed to do this?

Healthy foods like bananas, baked beans, corn, <insert fruit/vegetable here>, etc. all fall into that category.

For carbs, look for foods low in the glcemic index. Just a way to rate how fast your body digests carbs. Generally adding soluble fiber to carbs slows down digestion. Also the surface area plays a role. Flour would have much more than whole grains.

Generally, avoid flour, corn syrup, lots of sugar.

There's also lean meats, nuts, fish. Yes, nuts and fish are high in fat, but that's okay because it digests very slowly. If not roasted, the fat from nuts is very healthy.

Tuna, oatmeal, bananas, corn, wheat bread, wheat pasta, brown rice, and low-fat cheese are the items that immediately come to mind.
