My floppy just died, and I'm not really inclined to replace it, but I now have this hole in my case, and I'm not sure what to put in there. Fry's has some firewire/usb/audio port thingies, and memory card readers, but i haven't been too impressed with them. Are there any decent temp monitors that can be put there? Or even an lcd display? Any suggestions welcome, I'm just looking for something useful & different.

memory card readers are very useful if you have multiple digital cameras and you take alot of pictures like me - but an lcd temp monitor would be good for a gaming machine.

YE Data makes a very nice Flash Card Reader/Floppy drive combo (also sold under the Adaptec name) that fits in the same space as a floppy drive alone (Mitsumi makes one too but the YE is better, IMO.). I'll be getting one as soon as the money for it shakes loose... But then, I'm a tech and probably find more use for floppy diskettes than most. I just wrote about six of them the other day.
. OTOH, SVC.com and others have lots of neat things to take up a FD space. Like a SATA and molex connector panel or an IDE w/ molex or just 4 molex connectors etc. - fan controllers - ports panels - or just flash card readers. Silverstone makes a nice looking ports panel that SVC sells for ~$12. I haven't seen many displays in the 3.5" size as there just isn't enough surface area for a decent display - most of those are in the 5.25" size.
