started with a Filibuster by Wendy Davis over some abortion bill in Texas and has been going for ~13 hours I think

I'm just glad I finally got out of that shithole. If they valued intelligence and education as much as they do their dogma and their state pride none of this would have ever happened. They are everything horrible about Murrica condensed into one state.

Why all the opposition? Texas isn't saying you can't get an abortion here, they don't have the power to overturn roe vs wade. All they're doing is just reclassifying the standards a clinic needs to meet to perform one to the point of ensuring hardly any clinic left in Texas could possibly meet or accommodate it.

Someone who is dirt poor is not going to be able to travel hundreds of miles and pay top dollar to get an abortion.
