My brother has tons of movies on his computer, so whenever i want to see any of them i naturally copy them over to my computer via our home (w)lan. The problem is however that his computer slows down heavily whenever i do this. Is that normal? What can i do so his computer doesnt slow down that much?

Faster drives. More memory. Turn on tcp offloading if you can. Is IO peaking, network peaking, or the CPU peaking when you do this?
