Files not appearing in folder

Basically we lost power yesterday and my media box went down, now the folder that had all of the shows on it only has about 10 things in it. However the drive statistics show that it is nearly full. Also if I tell the torrent app to open the files I have on there they will pop up and open, but when I tell it open folder containing, they are nowhere to be seen. I am wary of ever using windows to fix itself after last year lost partition fiasco.

Folder options possibly changed to Hide x type extensions?

An 'undelete' utility may or may not be of help here. Normally I'd just suggest doing a Diskscan to let Windows rebuild the Directory structure, but you seem to have some reservations about it.

Have you tried using the Windows 'Search' or find Files option. It may find them and allow you to copy/move them.

ALready done the search, nothing comes up. I need to do disk scan but like I said last time the disk merge happened and failed the disk scan screwed me.
