Something happened and chkdsk ran when I rebooted and my music directory was gone, and a few others. I scanned the HD with a utility and it didn't detect any problems with SMART. I checked the free space and it would seem everything's still there. At worst most of the stuff's definitely still there is found.xxx directories I ordered a replacement so I can back it up. Here's my problem
(Windows 11 - if that makes any difference) The files are in found.000 and found.001, access is denied when try to open them. I opened a CMD in admin mode and tried manually setting h and s attribs, "not resetting system file" When I right click on either of the folders and hit properties it says I have full control. I Googled this but I'm stumped and at a loss what to do next. I know Windows has some feature where you can right click properties on a folder and restore what was in it, not sure how this works, but the folder's not even there so I can't even try that.
any suggestions?
