Files "HIDEN"... Can I find them?

Stout

Senior member
After creating a folder in the Win directory I set the properties as "HIDEN" and now I can see em... Of course... But I can't find them under "search", etc. Is there a way that I can recoup these files???

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In XP you have to change the search options to also search for hiden and system files. I cant remember what to do for 98SE.

According to Websters, there's no word called "HIDEN" - perhaps the word you're looking for is "hidden" ??

if u can see the folder when u open the directory that it is in then just right clik on it and change the properties where it isnt hidden. if u cant find the folder then open the folder or drive that they are in and goto view > folder options > view. and check show hidden files or show all files. sorry i wasnt sure what you were asking.

Well I was checking the option to search "HIDDEN files" also but for some reason hit the back and the search was not covering hidden files/folders.

Also under WinXP there no option on the view tab to show HIDDEN files, so was not able to do that.

Now I found my vacation pixs 🙂

Tks all for your help.
