Files & Folders back to front in the "Open" dialog box? How odd

I've got a bizarre problem, folders are being organized upside down. For example files before folders, all in reverse alphabetical order. Broswing folders in My Computer works fine, but through any Open or Save box they're reversed. How odd. If I use "Arrange Icons > By Name" it corrects it, but then it's back the way it was again if I leave the folder and return.

Any thoughts? Thanks so much, it's quite annoying. I'm using Win XP Pro SP2.

Go to 'Windows Explorer' and change the view to the way
you would prefer it (Arrange icons By name..).

Then go to TOOLS \ FOLDER OPTIONS and click the 'VIEW' tab.
Under "Folder views" click 'Apply to All Folders' tab

You will need to close Windows Explorer for the settings to take effect.
