Files are being corrupted

Whenever I download a video or view some large photos I get a cannot play cause the file has been corrupted notice. For example if I download a .zip or a large video file it wont open cause the file has been corrupt. But for some reason when I download/upload through FTP it works fine. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

[*]I assume that you're using IE since you didn't specify, so my suggestion is to try a different web browser like Firefox.
