Fileplanet is free, but you have to register just to d/l now. Also, you have to wait to d/l, but if you do, the bandwidth is pretty clean (i.e. very fast). I just signed up with the "personal" server -- its just worth it to me, considering how much I d/l patches, demo's, updates, etc. Fileplanet's servers are fast and with their personal ones, its even faster for me (~169k/sec right now).

I would sign up for a personal server but I don't pay for something I can get at a mirror for almost the same speed.

I personally can't stand the idea of this waiting in line BS, but this is what gaming site's have to do now to make money. It's not the .com era anymore.
