I have tons of PDF files scanned on my computer in one folder. I was just reading about Filemaker Pro and wanted to know if that is a good application to organazise all those files?

I'm talking about 500megs of just PDF files.

filemaker would be no better than a regular directory if all your doing is storing them. Fielmaker comes in more handy when you are actually turning them into forms or displaying them for online search and retrieval...

The problem I have is that lots of the files have almost the same names because they are about the same topic and item and it makes it really hard to find the file I want when I need to.

So question. Is there an application that can embed more information into the file so I can easily search for it? I have pay stubs, medical records, receipts, bills all in PDF format. I have organized them the best I can but still hard to remember which one is which.
