Any other Filemaker Pro users out there???

GOOD: NEW Filemaker Pro 7.0 Upgrade CD for Windows -- Until September 17, 2004, upgrade from FileMaker Pro 2.1, 3.0, 4.x, 5.x or 6.0 for U.S.$149.

OR

BETTER: Buy FileMaker Pro 6 (full or upgrade version) between February 8, 2004, and March 24, 2004: Get U.S.$50 rebate and become eligible to purchase Filemaker Pro 7.0 Upgrade for U.S.$30 (S&H included) between March 9, 2004, and April 8, 2004.

Buy.com has Filemaker Pro 6.0 Upgrade with free shipping for $128.62 - $50.00 (rebate) + $30.00 (7.0 upgrade) = $108.62

OR

BEST: If you can add a coupon and ebates or find a vendor with a better price on a new in box Filemaker Pro 6.0 Upgrade as I was fortunate enough to do, make it a hot deal.

I found a vendor with a new Filemaker Pro 6.0 Upgrade for on $93.50 (S&H included) thru Amazon.com . . . there may be one left dropping the price to $93.50 - $50.00 (rebate) + $30.00 (7.0 upgrade) = $73.50.

MAC prices slightly higher.

Not much interest but. . .

guess I'll bump this one more time before deadline for upgrading from 6.0 to 7.0 for $30.00 expires.

Its a great deal as babuddha said....

Its a database app, originally developed on the Mac and quite powerful. We use it and run several db apps and serve them up over the web.
It does have some shortcomings though that have branded it as less than perfect compared to Access, SQL, etc.....

FMP 7 though is a huge change and a step in the right direction. It sounds like it will finally be at the same level as the big boys.......😀

I already run Access, so I guess I don't need it.

The benefit of FileMaker is that basic stuff is so easy, secretaries can make modifications. We used it for a few years and there's a LOT of depth to it as we pulled off some amazing stuff with the basic scripting it has, but the easy things like adding fields and creating layouts is cake. Problem when we stopped using it was performance and storage (number of records per file).
