I often copy large videos to my s8 through USB and it seems every time if the phone uses some form of data (text message, browser...etc) during the transfer it stops with no error message or anything. Hugely annoying when it's already taken several minutes and is about to finished but gets disrupted from a stupid text message.

Are you transferring from/to an SD card? I had a similar experience with a large file (1GB+) when using an SD card. Using the internal memory solved the issue so I did not bother to investigate it further. In my case there was no active data use but the transfer still failed and almost froze the Windows explorer.

I would like to hear others experience as well.

Never heard of that but in the meantime why don't you put on Airplane mode and turn off Wi-Fi just when you are transferring data until you find a fix.

I have issues with large directories with many files. It errors out when going to the sdcard. Same if the directory on the card has too many files. I have my music files spread across six directories to help alleviate the issue. Android file xfer sucks.

This is copying to an SD card. While it may be happening with the internal memory I just don't copy enough things there to notice if it's affected. These are fairly large files in the 1-5gb range. The transfer speed is a lot faster if I remove the card and use the card reader but I don't want to damage the pins in the phone for both the SD and sim cards from excessive removing.

Yes, I occasionally experience this too when transferring a large batch of small files. It would just stop without any errors. If I keep it to a dozen at a time they transfer just fine.
