File sharing Windows to Mac?

Is it possible to use file sharing between win 98 and Mac OS 9?
Do I have to use a file sharing program like kazaa(kazaa dsnt support mac)
What is the name of a free program that supports both?
The Mac uses Limewire.
Or is there protocol to do it directly. I'd like to be able to take advantage of 100Mb/s
They are both on the same router.

Without specialist software, I don't think so (I'm no expert though!). Can you not upgrade to Os X 10.2? That will include Samba, which will allow you to file share between MacOS/Linux/Windows.

It looks like i'm hung with the Mac, it's only OS 9, if it were OS/X it would come with samba ( a unix filesharing program, that can be used to go PC to Mac)

I found some other programs too like DAVE and webDAV, they all cost $80-200.

Anyone no of some free software out there? OS/9 and Win 98
 
Setting up FTP over a TCP/IP intranet would allow you to share files without Kazaa. Windows Explorer allows you to drag and drop FTP directories, and I'd imagine MacOS would do the same. It's might not be advisable if you have sensitive files, but if your using Kazaa I don't think the files would be sensitive.
 
There is NO free software that will let you set up file sharing between Mac OS 9.x or earlier and any version of Windows.

The best you can do for free is to run a free ftp server like GuildFTP on your Windows machine and then use a free Mac FTP client (if there is such a thing) to move files back and forth.
 
Do yourself a favor and just buy a copy of Dave.

Sometimes, an existing piece of commercial software does something so well that it pays to buy it, rather than try to do it on the cheap.
 
I'd buy a copy if I owned the mac, but it's my roomates, and she doesnt have anything to offer me. she wants my music/video, but wont ever pay to upgrade even. she still has a 4X CD-r, but it needs new drivers and she dsnt want to install them cuz she's scared of her computer.

 
some one got a link for ftp sharing, this sounds good, but if it's not easy (i mean really easy to use) she probly wont mess with it.

I have about 50GB of files she wants access to

I need lots of detailed instruction for the mac, cuz i dont use it much/not familiar with it
