i love direct connect. unfortunately you must share files to gain access to many servers.

I just downloaded the DVD preview of Monsters Inc. yesterday!

Kazaa (you can restrict its port access with a firewall to get rid of adds)

I hate it though when I try to download something and it turns out (almost always it seams anymore) to be something else totally once you uncompress it...

kazaa lite, audiogalaxy, DC++. pretty good. usually all extremely slow even though i'm on a really fast connection.

I have tried many mentioned here, and the one I keep going back to is WinMX.

Kazaa Lite NEVER works for me. Connects, searches, then about 90% of the files I try to download go to Failed. Or it seems hardly any people have it cause find more users never works and it goes at like .05k/sec if it does work. I dunno it's just not the same since Morpheus (1.3 and earlier, none of the PE bs).

I use Direct Connect and Audiogalaxy. DC is always real slow but I guess that's just the user I'm getting it from. They probably say the same cause when the hub requires 3 slots and my ultra fast 10-12k/sec upload speed.... ugh.

I really miss Napster. Nothing has even come close since then. I've had like one good experience with edonkey2000. And I've got a couple of MP3's from WinMX and Morpheus. I got a few programs off of Limewire.

But NONE of those have ever had the speed of Napster. Not even a close second. So I'm utterly unfaithful to file sharing programs now. I just keep using different ones while weeping for the Napster days of old.

Are their any benifits to KazaaLite vs. using the version I am using now?

Kazaa seems to work for what I want. It's fustrating to see a file that only one user has and it won't let you download it. There doesn't seem to many other Celtic Folk artist fans out there. Other than that, no major problems. I set the uploads to only one at a time since I'm capped and would rather one person get a good speed rather than a lot get next to nothing.

personally, i'm a kazaa lite fan

i used to be a morpheus addict before the big server shut out and used to OP in one of the main channels, but they h0ed me out.
