File Sharing Through a Gateway in XP

I'm having a problem getting file and printer sharing to work in Windows XP Professional. I use a DSL connection though a residential gateway, and the networking is done inside the DSL line itself, in a way. The connection sharing works fine, but I can't get to shared folders through My Network Places.

I ran the Network Setup Wizard, chose to use a residential gateway, and gave both computers the same workgroup name. I designated special shared folders. But when I go to My Network Places, I go to Microsoft Windows Network and it freezes up for a few seconds, then shows the workgroup. When I double click the workgroup, it freezes up for even longer, then gives me an error message:

(workgroup name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available

Can anyone help me out with this?

It is not clear what type of Network you have and how it is connected?

The Networking is done inside the DSL Line! What that means?

Wizard is on the dark Side of the Force, it is better not to use it but to configure manually.

Disconnect from the DSL and configure your two computers to be connected has a Normal working sharing Network.

Once you have Working Network take care of the DSL.

Log to this page it has a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network Setting and Sharing.
