file sharing question

it is possible to use program that only bee install in server only?
say install office 2000 in server
but for the client that connect to the server sharing office 2000 without install office 2000 in the client?
 
You are going to have to be more specific, and not to be mean, you will also have to be more clear as to what you are asking. I do not understand what you are saying.

He's asking if there was a way to have Office 2000(or whatever program) installed on one machine, and then be able to run it from another machine on the same network. Sorta like "served applications" that most large businesses use.

I don't know the answer. All I know is that they will run much faster if you install them locally.

I doubt it.
 
I havent verified this, but I doubt pro has terminal services as server software. But you can do an Office network installation. You will see the option. It still installs files on the client but the bulk of the files reside on your server. Slow, and I much prefer installing Office locally, but the network install can be done.
 
Windows 2000 Pro DOES NOT COME WITH TERMINAL SERVICES. It only comes with the client software to connect to the TS server. If you need Terminal Services, you will need Windows 2000 Server, AS, or DataCenter.
