Problem: Our domain network disallows file sharing over the network. We have many large videos and other files associated with video editing that we need to centralize for ease of access and storage redundancy purposes.
We bought a switch and hardware to add additional gigabit ports to our systems (running Win 8) with the intention of creating our own intra-office network, but we cannot seem to get the systems to see each other. After Googling, we tried disabling default gateways for the NICs connected to the file sharing network and using static routing, but can't seem to get that to work.
I greatly appreciate any help or advice offered. Thanks!
