please help me set it up so i can have a shared folder on each computer that the other one can access. they're connected with a netgear mr814 wireless router and share a dsl connection just fine for now. tia

Mac OS 10.2 has built in capabilities to mount normal windows file shares (and share files with windows users). On the Windows side, set up a network share of some kind.

For Mac connecting to PC share:
Click on the Go menu, Connect to Server, type smb://123.123.123.123/sharename OR smb://computer_name/sharename
Enter username/pass

On the Mac side, set up a network share. Somewhere in the Sharing or Network control panels you will find a checkbox that will allow PC users access to that share. Make sure that's checked and try mapping the network drive in Windows however you normally do it.
