File Sharing between 2 Locations over Bellsouth DSL...

I am doing some work for 2 ebay auction stores with Bellsouth DSL (Static IPs). Each location has a modem/router with 3 WinXP computers behind it.

I need to setup filesharing between the 2 locations and need to do it as simply as possible. Setting up an OpenSSH server would be considered too complicated

I'm thinking that I can setup a VPN server on an XP box at one location, forword the proper ports from the router and then be able to connect from the other location and map network drives.

Does this sound like a good idea?

P.S. speed is not an issue, just small excel files would be tranfered around.

Setting up a VPN is more tricky than I expected. I believe I have all the firewall and port forwding settings correct, but I still can't ever make a connection.

I found an Expert Exchange thread and I think NAT is causing my problems.

To make it less complicated to setup you might want to consider getting routers on both ends of the connection that are capable of doing VPN. This way you can make the VPN from router to router and not have to worry about setting a PC to handles the connection which complicates things.

John that definately sounds like a simple solution.

Anybody know of a ASDL Router that can do this?

arg, another router is out, Owners don't want something bellsouth won't support. I've got Remote Desktop working... I guess that will have to do.
