File Server

I know in a file server that fast HD's are important. That I can do. I'm curious though if anyone here knows the kind of "order" where I'll get the most action for my buck. IE: Am I going to get more action from a Pentium D processor with 2gbs of RAM in a file server or a Core 2 Duo with 512 megs of RAM?

(It will have to be running Windows 2003 Server, Linux Fanboys need not apply)

Oh! Another question: Do you think it would be better to go with several smaller HD's in a RAID array or one BIG HD?

From those 2 listed, I'd take the Pentium D and 2gigs....file server, large hard drives and more memory is of utmost importance than processor speed.
