My company is having a limited budget right now so I need the cheapest possible solutions. I need to host a file server w/ approx 60gig of data and I can't affort and downtime. I am thinking about using 2 system with exactly the same hardware, it will be something like P4 2.8/ 2x 80gb mirror...etc. And use the 2nd system as a back up.

My question is is there any hardware or software solution that will let me syn the data between 2 systems in real time? So IF the 1st one down I can just plug in the 2nd one?

Even a Celeron 2.x is more than fast enough if it really is only a file server (not running applications like SQL server)., so you can save a little there (on poth the CPU and getting slower DDR SDRAM). Also, a cheaper motherboard like i865 single-channel is fine, though you might need to spend more to get built-in RAID anyway.
