File server, Apple Ipod, VNC...an odd question.

Alright...here's the deal.

I have one main computer that I use most of the time and then a file server that has all of my mp3s. Once setup, the file server will not use a monitor but simply a VNC program (such as TightVNC), and that is how I will control my computer. However, I have a 20gb Ipod Gen2 that I would like to transfer my songs to. Which computer should I put the firewire cad in?

If it put it in the file server, can I reliably do Ephpod transfers via my VNC client? Would it be better to put it in my main comp and transfer the files across the network (but since the Firewire's speed is 400mbps and my network is 100mpbs, wouldn't the network bottleneck it?)? What would you reccomend in this situtation? Any ideas?

Thanks!

It will be much easier to put the firewire card in the main computer. The hard drive speed won't saturate 100mpbs let alone 400mpbs. Plus it will be much easier than having to use vnc everytime you hook up your ipod.

PS Or you could get a mac!
