File Rename Application: I need something that renames all files

My friend was selling his PC and he had a music collection on it. Long story short, we switched HDD's and now I have this massive library of files.

Problem is, each files looks like this:

!Band Name - Song Name

Is there an app. out there that can delete the '!' in front of the file names? There's thousands of these, I don't want to have to do them individually.

I can't remember the URL to get it, but search for a program called "THE Rename". It can rename a batch of files just about any way you could possibly want.

Try Irfanview, its free. It can do batch conversion/rename.

ExplorerXP works great for this. It doesn't read ID3 tags or anything but you can mass rename using insert, trim, replace, etc. Generally you can get a batch of files named any possible way once you get the hang of the several ways to do it. It's a very small and free program that I've always had since I found it a couple years ago.

ACDSee will also do batch file name.
